Another popular use for plastic number plates is for the display of names or nicknames on lorries and vans. This is something of a tradition among commercial drivers. Very often the name plates are displayed behind the windscreen on the dashboard of the vehicle. While we think that this is great, harmless fun, and something that adds to the character of the vehicle, we would offer a word of caution. If you intend to display a name or nickname on a vehicle using a registration number plate style plaque or plate, then take care that it is not positioned in such a way as to make possible any confusion between the fun name plaque and the vehicle's official number plates. With the constant tightening of regulations it is easy to fall foul of the rules, and we certainly don't condone anything which may be illegal. Please be careful.
